Chaos broke out within the early hours on Thursday, at Obalende space of Lagos Island following a violent conflict between rival teams of the Nationwide Union of Highway Transport Employees, NURTW.
The conflict which began round eight am, as learnt, led to panic within the space as motorists, passengers and passersby scampered for security
One Twitter person @DE_COMMUNICATOR shared a video from the chaos which confirmed individuals fleeing the world.
“Keep away from Obalende proper now. Thugs are closely armed with weapons taking pictures right here and there,” he captioned the video.
One other person @AbassOyeyemi mentioned, “Insecurity in Lagos has skyrocketed. Particularly on the Island. Loopy taking pictures by NURTW guys occurring at Obalende. That is simply after about 4 days of shootings at Adeniji Adele. Thank God for all times.”
The Grievance Response Unit of the Nigeria Police Pressure which responded to the video, mentioned, “DPOs and different policemen are on floor addressing the scenario. Thanks for contacting NPF-CRU.”

As at press time, it couldn’t be ascertained if there have been causalities in addition to the reason for the conflict.
Meantime, residents and motorists have been urged to keep away from the world for now pending the arrival of safety personnel to revive sanity and security.
