In line with the TIME web site,
avido is without doubt one of the largest voices in Afrobeats as a result of his music connects with individuals, usually in ways in which transcend his expectations. When he launched the tune “FEM” in 2020, a title that loosely interprets to “shut up” in Yoruba, he didn’t know it will grow to be a significant #EndSARS protest anthem, as youth banded collectively to demand the federal government take motion to finish police brutality in Nigeria final October. Officers responded by sending politicians to present speeches. We advised the federal government to maintain quiet except they’d one thing smart so as to add—the ethos of “FEM” was instantly relatable to that second.
FK Abudu, Odunayo Eweniyi and Damilola Odufuwa have been listed owing to their energetic participation within the 2020 EndSARS protest in Nigeria.
